About

Our mission at Orange Healthy Weight Clinic is to provide a comprehensive approach to weight management.

OHWC aims to reduce the medical, psychological and social burden that people living with obesity and excess weight experience.

The OHWC approach is based on current research and medical science to give you the tools you need to achieve meaningful and sustainable weight reduction.

The Valita app is a perfect accompaniment to your weight loss program. It contains a weight tracker, ketogenic dietary plans, 12 week lifestyle program and resources on weight loss, medications, surgery and mindfulness.

We work in conjunction with your GP to provide an individualised and comprehensive approach to medical weight management.

We aim to help you achieve meaningful and sustainable weight reduction.

In addition, we can connect you with local health professionals who can provide dietary advice, affordable exercise programs, personal training and psychological support if your preference is face-to-face care.

“Our bariatricians understand the causes of your weight gain and will work with you to develop the most appropriate medical treatment plan to help you maintain a healthy body weight for life.”

Dr Catherine Crane

Catherine graduated from The University of Sydney in 2010 with honours and was awarded a Fellowship from the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2017.

In addition to working as a GP since 2017, for nearly a decade she has worked as a surgical assistant to local orthopaedic, bariatric and general surgeons.

Through her work as a GP / surgical assistant, Catherine became acutely aware of a growing population living with obesity and its complications (and the limited comprehensive medical care available to these patients).

Consequently, she completed studies in bariatric medicine at The Strategic Centre for Obesity Professional Education (SCOPE) – World Obesity Federation, Melbourne University, Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and also through the Valita Network.

In 2022 Catherine started Orange Healthy Weight Clinic, with a goal to improve the health, lifestyle and happiness of patients living with obesity.
